Adjusting File Size
Some of you have asked for instructions on how to adjust the size of the files that JotNot creates. By default, JotNot sets the size based on the most common use cases for scanning. But there are situations where you might need more control over file size.
For example, say you’re scanning a 20 page document that you need to email over a 3G cell network. The default size setting could produce a file that is several MB in size. Sending this file over the cell network might take a some time. It might be much better in this case to adjust the file size down so that it will transmit more easily over the network.
There are two slider controls for adjusting file size:
- Resolution
- JPEG Quality
Both of these controls are accessible under the Settings->Enhancement Options menu. I usually recommend starting with the JPEG Quality slider. Moving this to the left can dramatically lower the size without affecting the quality much at all. If this doens’t give you enough reduction you can also adjust the Resolution control. Moving the Resolution slider to the left will lower the resolution of the resulting images (as the name suggests).
I hope this helps. If you have any questions feel free to email us at support at mobitech3000.com
